Children's Ministry
Children Will Find a Place at
Highland Park
Rev. Kevin Mitchell directs the children's program.
We strive to help children see, feel, and
experience God’s love through our interaction, programs and worship.
On Sundays:
Opening Assembly for all School Age Children begins at 9:30 in our Multi-Purpose room. Pre-Elementary Children go directly to their Sunday School Classes at 9:30.
Following Opening Assembly the School Age Children go directly to their Sunday School classes to continue the lesson through age appropriate activities. Kindergarten-2nd Grade meet in Room 123. Their teacher is Leah Stanley and she is assisted by several rotating helpers. 3rd-5th Grade meet in Room 124.
Following Sunday School, the School Age Children gather in the atrium for the procession. The children are then invited to the Children’s Sermon. Following the Children’s Sermon, Kindergarteners can return to the Nursery for Music and Movement. We ask 1st—5th Graders to participate in worship with the adults. The Pre-Elementary Children stay in the nursery area until just prior to the Children’s Sermon. Following the Children’s Sermon they return for Music and Movement and other activities.
On Wednesdays:
The School Age Children gather at 6:15 p.m. in the Children’s Multi-Purpose room for a variety of activities geared toward understanding our church, giving back to our church, understanding missions and giving to our community. Each Wednesday is a new and different activity and we invite children to come and grow with us. The Pre-Elementary Children gather in the nursery area for activities and fun together.
